Microneedling, also called percutaneous collagen induction therapy, is performed using a handheld, drum- or pen-shaped device, electrically powered, with tiny needles that make precise, microscopic punctures in the skin. These “micro-injuries” do not leave scars; they work by helping to stimulate the skin to repair itself naturally through a process called dermal remodeling. This process starts with inflammation, which stimulates the skin to produce new collagen (the elastic fibers that make skin tight, smooth, and youthful). Collagen levels in the skin decline as we age, and new collagen can be produced when the skin is in repair mode.
Three to five monthly or biweekly treatments are recommended to achieve desired results. Through a series of sessions, microneedling can increase elastic skin fibers. Microneedling also helps the epidermis (the outermost layer of skin), which naturally thins with age, become thicker and tauter.

Needling procedures are performed in a safe and precise manner with the use of a sterile micropen needle head and handheld micropen skin needling system. The micropen is gently pressed into the skin, and glides across its surface to induce new collagen and elastin.
While micro-needling can sound rather daunting, the needles that we use during the procedure are microscopic. The treatment can cause discomfort and has been said to feel like a vibrating cats tongue. Areas with deeper imperfections may cause more discomfort than areas with superficial imperfections. We ensure that our patients are comfortable throughout the entire procedure. A topical numbing agent is applied 30 minutes prior to Micro-needling to aid any discomfort during the procedure.
Generally, patients notice tightening, and a more even tone to their skin, a week or two after their first session. For areas with deeper imperfections, results can be subtler, and additional treatments are usually required. Since Micro-needling stimulates new collagen and elastin production, these results will continue to build for up to 6 months.
It is important to realize that we cannot stop the aging process, we can only slow it down. With this in mind, results are not considered permanent, as natural degradation will occur over time. Improvements from micro-needling can be seen for several years after treatment, and results can be prolonged with the correct at home skincare.
I had a great experience at Vina Beauty Spa. I got a butt lift and a laser hair removal and I’m very happy with the results.

Vina Beauty Spa is the best place to go for a tattoo removal. I had a regrettable tattoo on my arm that I wanted to get rid of. After one session I got rid of it.
